Ubiquity 0.2 preview 5: It works!

We’ve just released Ubiquity 0.2 preview release 5. What’s awesome is that we think it solves the crashing bugs that many users have been experiencing. If you’ve been having troubles, or you are feeling brave, give it a whirl.

If you already have one of the 0.2pre’s installed, it should
auto-update to this new version. There are lots of other fixes in here, but another important one is that Ubiquity now is a good citizen when it is uninstalled and cleans up after itself.

This preview release is also the first to feature early documentation
for theUtils and CmdUtils namespaces, as explained in Atul’s blog post.

I have the latest release and like all the others, I love it – in fact I cannot stop using it, very well designed, intuative and pretty stable. Excellent, thanks for providing a piece of unintrusive software that actually is useful. I can’t speak highly enough of both Ubiquity and Enso.

The main point of my posting isn’t to gush about your app but I am curious about the adoption rate for it, how many times has Ubiquity been downloaded? What is the penetration / adoption in the main for FF users?

Can you please release some info as, whilst there has been some press here and there, in general the mainstream tech reporters don’t seem to be giving Ubiquity or Enso the coverage it possibly deserves IMO.

Called an interface guru by publications like Wired and Fast Company, Aza is the co-founder of Massive Health, and was until recently Creative Lead for Firefox. Previously, he was a founding member of Mozilla Labs. Aza gave his first talk on user interface at age 10 and got hooked. At 17, he was talking and consulting internationally. Aza has founded and sold two companies, including Songza.com, a minimalist music search engine that had over a million song plays in its first week. He also creates modular cardboard furniture called Bloxes. In another life, Aza has done Dark Matter research at both Tokyo University and the University of Chicago, from where he graduated with honors in math and physics
