Weekly Ubiquity Focus: Email Command
It’s time to start improving the built-in Ubiquity commands! Since the launch of Ubiquity last August, huge improvements have been made. But most of these new changes haven’t improved the commands in any way. Aside from a few bug fixes, the “wikipedia” command, the “twitter” command and others are still the same as they were back in August.
We are starting a weekly focuses so that everyone can concentrate their efforts on a single piece of funcationality for a week or two to make it really sing. The first one is email.
For details of how to participate, head over to Abi’s blog, who is leading the charge.

i am still not sure what ubiquity is all about. it seems like a commandline tool for the browser which swallows ‘fuzzy’ commands. or is it just sth like quicksilver for the web? whith predefined queries? aimed at beginners or powerusers? VERY interesting project though.

Mr. Raskin,
Love what you’re doing with Ubiquity and semantic computing. Really, thank you. Just as a small bit of niggling HTML, though, could you possibly make your header logo link back to the top page of your blog? Usability incorporates interface idioms, too. :) (Lecturing a Raskin on usability…bloody it all, where did I go wrong?)
Regards,

Dear Aza,
I read your Dad’s piece on model flight and it gave me a new insight. So, when I saw this*, I thought, I wonder if Aza has picked up anything by osmosis.

Maybe one can do this now but I would like to highlight a portion of a web page to be quoted in an email and also add my own comments. Something like being able to edit the prefix to the link, followed by the link, followed by the highlighted portion of a web page. Are you totally confused now?

I know you can do all of this now when the email composition window comes up but it would be nice to be able to do it one fell swoop. Something like:
email this to myfriend.com Hey friend, you might be interested in this because Ubiquity is cool.
I am a new Ubiquity user so this might be available now and I am not aware of it.
